Thunderbirds to race cars: Inside Horsepower of America at the Great American State Fair

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Great American State Fair is celebrating different American industries and achievements. On Thursday, July 2, the fair highlighted “Horsepower of America,” where American innovations, from space travel, to the thrill of racing, and the power of flight were on display.

Colonel Justin “Astro” Elliott, commander of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, spoke with the Washington Examiner about how American “horsepower” today is the innovation and courage of the people pushing aviation to new limits.
