A North Carolina woman is facing charges of malicious castration for allegedly tying up her husband and cutting off his penis.
Victoria Frabutt, 56, of Newport, North Carolina, was charged by Carteret County deputies after the police were called to the couple’s home at 4 a.m. Tuesday. She was also charged with kidnapping and her bail is set at $100,000. Frabutt is expected to appear in court Wednesday.

Major Jason Wank, chief detective, told WITN that the motive behind Frabutt’s actions remains unknown.
Police were able to locate the severed penis of James Frabutt, 67, and put it on ice, but it remains unclear whether it was reattached.
James Frabutt was photographed and quoted in a 2014 article about a new mental health and substance abuse treatment. He was identified as a peer recovery volunteer at the center, commenting: “There’s lots of places you can go to be told what steps to take, how to stay clean, but establishing and using those tools … that doesn’t work for everyone. This provides a comfortable place to learn and be together. There’s a sense of unity.”
