Vice President Mike Pence was given the two tickets to the Indianapolis Colts game he walked out of after NFL players took a knee during the national anthem.
Pence’s financial disclosure report from the Office of Government Ethics released Wednesday shows the vice president received the tickets from Forrest Lucas, the founder of Lucas Oil, for the Oct. 8 matchup between the Colts and the San Francisco 49ers.
The Colts play at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and the tickets were valued at $774.
Pence, the former governor of Indiana, and second lady Karen Pence attended the game, during which the Colts retired former quarterback Peyton Manning’s jersey.
But the vice president and second lady walked out after more than a dozen players for the 49ers knelt when the national anthem began playing.
Pence said in a statement that he and President Trump would not “dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our flag or our national anthem.”
The president later revealed he asked Pence to leave the stadium if any players took a knee.
