Trump sat feuders Bannon, Kushner down in Florida: Report

President Trump facilitated a peacemaking talk between warring senior staffers Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner during their stay at Mar-a-Lago this week.

The talk took place on Thursday or Friday and was meant to ease tensions at the top of Trump’s White House following days of media coverage of the worsening relationship between both men, according to a report in Politico published Friday evening.

The White House has repeatedly downplayed reports of infighting. In this case, the conflict came down to differences in policy views between Bannon’s staunch populist-conservative stances and Kushner’s centrist positions.

Though the discussion is over, it’s unclear whether it will have long-term effects. The Trump administration has seen infighting make it to the public eye repeatedly over the past two and a half months.

Earlier this week, Bannon, chief strategist for Trump, was knocked off the National Security Council. On Friday, another report stated White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus could be fired.
