NEW ORLEANS (AP) — City Officials in New Orleans are touting a new online tool they say will help them track the progress in the city’s effort to rid the landscape of blighted properties.

The online site is called “BlightStatus.”

Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s office says it will give residents and others a way to review up-to-date property information from city records. Users will be able to track the progress of the city’s overall blight fight. And they will be able to look at progress in clearing blight on individual properties.

The online tool is a project of the city and a group called Code for America, which partners with local governments to promote civic innovation.
