Zuckerberg promotes Nick Clegg to handle regulators for Facebook

Published February 16, 2022 6:24pm ET

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday promoted his top policy executive, Nick Clegg, to a higher role within the social media giant. The move will result in Zuckerberg and other top executives, such as COO Sheryl Sandberg, playing less of a role in government and regulatory decisions.

Clegg, the former deputy prime minister of the United Kingdom, already runs Facebook’s global policy efforts, but he will now take the lead on all company policy matters as the president for global affairs and will report directly to Zuckerberg and Sandberg.
