Trump: ‘The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad’

President Trump responded Thursday evening to the sexual assault accusations by journalist Leeann Tweeden against Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., in a series of tweets calling attention to the “really bad” picture showing Franken with his hands over Tweeden’s chest as she slept.

“The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps? …..” the president tweeted.

In a follow up tweet, the president wrote: “And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape?”

Trump’s mention of Stahl, CBS reporter, is likely in reference to Franken being quoted in a 1995 New York Magazine article, about planning a “Saturday Night Live” skit about drugging and raping her.

The president’s tweets, which debuted a new nickname for Franken, came in response to a picture that surfaced Thursday of Franken inappropriately touching Tweeden while on a USO tour overseas in 2006. Tweeden also said Franken forcefully kissed her when the two were practicing a skit.

Franken has since apologized and asked that an ethics investigation be undertaken against him.
