Actor Matthew McConaughey took time out of his day Monday to play virtual bingo with residents of a Texas nursing home who are under quarantine.
“We got Charles … the iPad up high. … We got two winners!” the actor said at one point to residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living in Round Rock, Texas.
One resident quoted Dazed and Confused, one of McConaughey’s most well-known films, by exclaiming, “You’d be a whole lot cooler if you did.”
“During a time when we are all working to make lemonade out of lemons, we are so humbled that Matthew took the time to play our favorite game with us. As Matthew would say, let’s turn this red light into a green light!” the senior living center said in a Facebook post.
“This was a wish come true!” Sales Director Molly Davis Nedley said. “The residents absolutely loved seeing Matthew and his family and enjoyed hearing him talk about what he’s doing to get through this crisis,” Nedley told CBS Austin. “It gave them hope and was the boost that they needed to get through this lonely, challenging time.”
