NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Norfolk is celebrating the first anniversary of its light rail system by offering free rides.
Hampton Roads Transit says rides on The Tide will be free on Friday.
An anniversary celebration is set for 11 a.m. Friday at the MacArthur Square Station in downtown.
Transit officials expect The Tide to reach the 2 millionth rider milestone in November.
