Top Democrats from the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees are pressing for information from Cambridge Analytica, a data firm recently embroiled in a online security controversy amid reporting that indicates it may have violated U.S. regulations limiting foreign participation in elections.

The report, published by the Washington Post on Sunday, cited three former employees of the data firm who claimed that Cambridge Analytica in 2014 designated multiple non-U.S. citizens to work on campaign strategy and messaging advice with Republican candidates — a move that could be a breach of U.S. election laws.
