Va. man pleads guilty to planning Metro bombing attack

An Ashbun man has pleaded guilty to joining what he believed was an al Qaeda plot to bomb the Metro system.

Farooque Ahmed was sentenced to 23 years in prison on Monday in Alexandria’s federal court after pleading guilty to conspiring to provide material support to al Qaeda and collecting information for a terrorist attack.
