During Labor Day weekend, Anne Arundel police will be issuing traffic tickets to drivers caught using local roads to bypass Route 50 on their way to the Eastern Shore.

“We’re having some issues with individuals who, in an attempt to get closer to the toll, are using access roads where there are signs stating they’re for local traffic only, such as residents who use them every day,” said Sgt. John Gilmer, police spokesman.
