ODESSA, Texas (AP) — Police are seeking the public’s help to locate a driver who struck and critically injured a West Texas couple.
Odessa police say 42-year-old Todd Ploen was pushing his 31-year-old girlfriend in her wheelchair on Saturday night when they were hit.
The woman’s name has not been released. Both are in critical condition at Medical Center Hospital.
Neighbors tell KOSA-TV the couple was returning from grocery shopping when they were hit. The neighbors say they are petitioning the city to put in speed bumps or pedestrian walking signs because of the accident.
Police say the black car had square tail lights and hit the couple around 11 p.m.
