Carroll County residents ? but only county residents ? can drop off household hazardous waste from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Vehicle Maintenance Facility, 1250 Old Meadow Branch Road, Westminster.
Oil-based paints and thinners, sealants, pesticides and insecticides, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, household cleaners and batteries, solvents and gasoline can be thrown out.
Items that won?t be accepted include commercial, industrial or farm waste; vehicle batteries; explosives or ammunition; medical waste; radioactive materials; compressed gas tanks and cylinders; asbestos; and latex paint.
