National poll: Clinton, Trump statistically tied

Donald Trump is now just 1 percentage point behind Hillary Clinton in the latest nationwide poll.

A new NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll says Trump trails Clinton 46 percent-45 percent, after being down 3 points in last week’s poll. The result is similar to another poll released Monday that had Trump down 2 points, and said Trump is gaining strength among independents.
