A baby died on Tuesday after his father, who was accused of murdering two people, was shot and killed by police in a chase with the infant the day before.
Eric Derrell Smith, 30, was killed on Monday by police after a chase on I-10 in Biloxi, Mississippi. His 4-month-old baby was in the car at the time officers opened fire, according to WLOX. The baby, La’Mello Parker, died early Tuesday morning. The cause of the infant’s death is unclear.
