LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Farmers have been irrigating row crops in Nebraska to offset the hot and dry conditions in much of the state.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture report for the week ending Sunday says the high heat and limited rain across central and western Nebraska have stressed crops and pastureland. There have been replantings of dry beans in some areas of the Panhandle because of hail damage, and grasshoppers are a concern as well.
