Energy Secretary Rick Perry said Monday that the Trump administration supports making wind and solar energy more competitive with coal and fossil fuels, while simultaneously urging the world to embrace more natural gas exports and high-efficiency coal plants to help the environment.
“We are committed to developing, deploying and commercializing breakthrough technologies and developing the necessary policies that will help renewables become competitive with traditional sources of energy,” Perry said after meeting with his counterparts of the Group of Seven of the world’s most advanced economies.
