When the sextuplet wouldn’t stop blowing a whistle while Kate was on the phone, the reality-star mom “seemed to lose her temper,” a witness told In Touch magazine, and fumed, “Did you not hear me?” before storming over to swat the tot’s behind.
“The girl was screaming and crying,” adds the onlooker (who we’re guessing is a photographer). “Kate just pushed her away and walked off with her coffee.”
Kate defended herself to Life&Style magazine, declaring, “Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first. I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation.”
OK, but to those opposed to corporal punishment, whether or not paparazzi are present is not really the point.
Britney: Engaged?
Britney Spears already has two failed marriages behind her. Is she planning to make the third time the charm? According to Star magazine, her agent-turned-boyfriend Jason Trawick has popped the question.
“He didn’t exactly get down on one knee, but Brit didn’t care,” a source relayed. “She said yes, and they opened a bottle of Champagne to celebrate. Jason held Britney for a long time and kissed her cheeks.”
Unsurprisingly, a source told Us magazine the talk that Jason proposed is “absolutely not true,” and “Britney is not engaged.” A People magazine source (perhaps the same person?) seconded the denial.
We can’t help but feel relieved. When it comes to BritBrit, weddings are usually a sign of trouble.

Billy Joel and wife Katie Lee Joel announced Wednesday that they’re separating after five years of marriage. So, did those rumors about Katie’s close relationship to fashion designer Yigal Azrouel have anything to do with it? After all, it was reported some months ago that he referred to the cookbook-writing cutie as “my girlfriend.”
“Their decision to separate was absolutely unrelated to Yigal,” a rep for the Piano Man insists.
“They grew apart,” a friend explained. “When Billy isn’t touring, he’d rather be on Long Island with his motorcycles and boats.”

According to blog reports, the “SexyBack” singer was spotted at a club canoodling with a girl who was most definitely not longtime companion Jessica Biel. La Linds was also present — and a tweet sent from her account that night around 3 a.m., allegedly when she spotted him with the brunette, asked, “where’s jb cheater?”
But the “Mean Girls” star says she wasn’t responsible for the online missive.
“I would not discuss my personal life, let alone someone else’s, on the Internet!” LiLo raged to Life&Style magazine.
We seem to recall Lindsay discussing her personal life on the Internet fairly frequently. And each time we read her posts, we come away wondering, “What does that even mean?”
