Lou Dobbs explodes while interviewing Richard Grenell about legal fight over election results

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs got into a heated exchange with former Trump spy chief Richard Grenell about the Trump campaign’s legal efforts to defend the president’s road to electoral victory.

During an interview Thursday afternoon, Dobbs asked Grenell about taking legal action in Nevada as the margin between the candidates continues to narrow. Grenell claimed approximately 3,060 people illegally voted in Nevada because they didn’t meet the residency requirement. “This is easily available information that the media should’ve found. We found it today. We are releasing this,” Grenell said.

Dobbs pressed Grenell on why the Trump campaign and others haven’t worked more expeditiously to challenge the results legally if this information was true. “This is Thursday. You were filing a legal action today against those fraudulent votes. Has that been filed? Because you’re complaining about the press instead of telling us what you’re actually getting done,” he said.

Dobbs added that the Trump campaign shouldn’t look for help from “media, who wouldn’t be any more helpful, fair, or intelligent, on this story than they would any other from this administration.” Grenell took issue with Dobbs’s questioning and asserted he would have sent a “letter out to the Justice Department and the FBI” if he wasn’t on the host’s television show.

“But I committed to come on your show, and so, we’re holding it to double-check it,” Grenell said. He said a letter would be sent to law enforcement agencies regarding the case 90 minutes after his interview and added that the lawsuit would follow in a matter of hours.

Dobbs then railed against Republican leaders who haven’t vowed public support for President Trump’s legal challenges during the elections, citing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel by name. Grenell said some of the individuals Dobbs mentioned have reached out to the Trump campaign, but the answer got another rise out of Dobbs.

“I’m not asking for little sweetheart letters. I’m asking why aren’t they demanding the Department of Justice step into a political crime, as it appears obviously to many?” Dobbs said, which Grenell brushed off. “You can ask them,” Grenell said.

“I apologize for delaying your legal action,” Dobbs said before the interview abruptly ended.
