A top Donald Trump aide is claiming that Hillary Clinton has never been properly vetted, despite being in politics for nearly four decades.

Trump’s national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said in a Wednesday interview on MSNBC that her candidate is excited about his probable general election matchup with Clinton, since it will give him a chance to talk about Clinton’s past.

“Oh, absolutely. Mainly because Hillary Clinton has never been truly vetted before. Particularly by the media,” Pierson said when asked about Trump’s enthusiasm in facing the former secretary of state.

When the host was skeptical, Pierson reiterated: “Never been truly vetted before.”

When asked about GOP attacks against Clinton and her husband while they were in the White House, Pierson shot back that it didn’t matter because younger voters aren’t clued in on Clinton’s past.

“There’s an entire generation of voters out there that know nothing about Hillary Clinton other than what they have heard in the last two to three years,” Pierson said. “There is plenty of information that needs to be discussed on top of the Clinton Foundation, which has not been fully discussed in the media.”

Meanwhile, Trump is only now being vetted because “he’s only been a politician for the last 10 to 11 months,” Pierson said.

Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon appeared on the same show immediately after, and was quick to reject Pierson’s argument.

“Hillary Clinton has committed a lifetime of work in the public arena to advancing the causes that we’ve talked about throughout this primary campaign,” Fallon said. “In the course of that, she’s been receiving all kinds of vitriolic attacks from Republicans for the better part of two decades, so she is the ultimate tested candidate. Donald Trump, on the other hand, is a risk that we just can’t afford with the high stakes that we’re seeing right now in the country today.”
