Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump has expanded since the Democratic National Convention, according to the latest results from NBC News/SurveyMonkey.
The new poll says Clinton has an 8-point lead, 50 percent-42 percent, after she led by 7 points in the prior week’s poll.
When the Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein are included, Clinton’s lead over Trump narrows to 4 points, 42 percent-38 percent. But that’s also progress for Clinton, as Trump was up 2 points in the four-way race last week.
Johnson and Stein’s support, 9 points and 4 points respectively, remained nearly the same from last week.
Clinton’s favorability rating markedly improved, too. Her favorable rating among Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters grew from 74 to 80 percent, while her unfavorable rating dropped from 24 to 19 percent.
The NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll was conducted online July 25-31, which means it was conducted while the convention was happening and over three additional days after it ended. It surveyed 12,742 adults with an error estimate of 1.2 percentage points.
