Trump speaks with Egyptian president el-Sissi

President Trump spoke by phone to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi on Monday, according to the White House.

El-Sissi has praised Trump in the past. In late December, the Egyptian leader reportedly stalled a United Nations Security Council vote on a now-infamous resolution against Israel at Trump’s personal request, a move that rankled supporters of former President Obama.

Trump’s call with el-Sissi comes one day after he spoke by phone to Israeli Prime Minister Bejaman Netanyahu. Trump has spoken with a number of foreign leaders since taking the oath of office, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and British Prime Minister Theresa May.
