WASHINGTON (AP) — Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is defending the Obama administration’s guidelines to banks conducting transactions with legal marijuana sellers.

Congressional Republicans on Tuesday questioned whether the guidance amounts to tacit federal approval of a drug illegal in most states.
