Authorities are searching for a man who was seen with a shotgun or rifle in Glen Burnie near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
Calls to the police began shortly before 11:30 a.m. with reports of a man with a gun running in the area of the parkway and Route 195.
Maryland State Police do not know if shots were fired, but they believe that the suspect used a hammer to break out windows of a vehicle parked near the location. No one has been injured. Workers in nearby office buildings have been told to stay indoors and be on the lookout for the suspect described as a white male, between 50 and 60 years old, wearing a black and red flannel shirt and blue jeans.
Police have established a command post and a search is under way. Police are using K-9 units, a helicopter and foot patrols in the search for the man.
