No shooting found following lockdown aboard Navy ship

The USS Carter Hall, a Navy ship docked near Norfolk, Va., was on lockdown Thursday after an active shooter was reported on a nearby barge in the shipyard, according to a local report.

“Police are investigating a report of an active shooter at 2 Harper Ave. Dispatch received the 911 call at 1146am. No further information at this time,” the Portsmouth Police Department wrote on Twitter Thursday afternoon.
