Mitt Romney was successfully treated for prostate cancer last summer

Mitt Romney, who is considering running for retiring Sen. Orrin Hatch’s seat in Utah, was diagnosed and successfully treated for prostate cancer this past summer, a spokesman confirmed to the Washington Examiner Monday afternoon.

“Last year, Governor Mitt Romney was diagnosed with slow-growing prostate cancer. The cancer was removed surgically and found not to have spread beyond the prostate,” an aide to Romney said in a statement.
