Meghan McCain: I talk to Joe Biden ‘all the time’

The View” co-host Meghan McCain has found solace in former Vice President Joe Biden as her father, Sen. John McCain, undergoes treatment for an aggressive form of brain cancer.

In an interview released Thursday, McCain, a Republican, said she speaks often with Biden, who is considering challenging President Trump for the White House in 2020.

“I talk to him all the time, and he checks in on me all the time,” she told Glamour magazine.

Biden memorably consoled an emotional McCain during an appearance on “The View” in December. McCain’s father is being treated for glioblastoma, the same cancer Biden’s son Beau died from in 2015.

“There is no manual to consult when it comes to dealing with a seriously ill parent,” Biden told the magazine. “But if there was, Meghan McCain would be the one to write it. … Publicly she has been fierce as John’s advocate, and privately her love and encouragement have sustained him. The way the entire McCain family has handled the cards they have been dealt is worthy of our admiration, and I know John is so incredibly proud of his daughter.”
