Comedian Joe Matarese will be performing at Magooby’s Joke House on Friday and Saturday with opener Josh Accardo.
Matarese grew up in New Jersey and moved to New York to pursue comedy. He has appeared on television many times, including “MTV’s Spring Break,” “The Jim Bruer Show,” MTV’s “Carson Daly Show,” NBC’s “Late Friday”, NY Metro’s “New Joke City” with Robert Klein, numerous times on “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” “Last Comic Standing,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” CNBC’s “McEnroe,” VH1’s “Celebrity Breakups,” the “Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Better Half” on Bravo.
The comedian also recently taped his own half-hour special for Comedy Central, which aired in the winter of 2008.
Matarese’s autobiographical act pokes fun at his neurotic Italian family and how they’ve molded him, his hatred of single life, and his marriage to a woman with a Ph.D. in psychology.
Magooby’s Joke House is located at 9306 Harford Road in Carney. Showtimes are 8 and 10:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $12. For more information, visit magoobys.com.
