‘SNL’: Bill Hader plays angry Jim Jordan at Michael Cohen hearing

The cold open of “Saturday Night Live” covered the open House Oversight Committee hearing last week with former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.

Actor Ben Stiller reprised the role of Cohen, and took questions about President Trump, who he characterized as a scheming, cheating, racist.

“SNL” cast member played the role of Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, who presided over the hearing. Much of the skit revolved around Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, portrayed by former “SNL” cast member Bill Hader, getting angry and attempting to ask questions intended to embarrass Cohen, but ultimately the answer made Trump look bad. Democrats on the panel repeatedly yielded their allotted time to Hader to allow him to keep speaking.

The sketch also made fun of Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., played by cast member Alex Moffat, bringing Housing and Urban Development Department official Lynne Patton, a black associate of Trump’s, to the hearing.

However, Moffat’s effort to prove the president is not a racist was undermined when he introduced Patton, played by cast member Ego Nwodim, as Omarosa Newman-Manigault, another black Trump aide who left the White House last year.
