Via Daniel Foster, a new Quinnipiac poll shows that Chris Christie’s approval rating has hit an all-time high of 59 percent:

New Jersey voters still approve 59 – 36 percent of the job Christie is doing, his best score ever. Approval is 92 – 6 percent among Republicans and 64 – 32 percent among independent voters. Democrats disapprove 64 – 30 percent.
Christie is more of a leader, 54 percent of voters say, while 39 percent say he is more of a bully.

Fifty-nine percent would be a great approval rating for a Republican in a swing state–or even a solidly Republican state. Bobby Jindal, for example, was reelected in Louisiana with 66 percent of the vote last year. For a conservative Republican like Christie to have the support of nearly 60 percent of voters in Democratic New Jersey is phenomenal.
