President Trump on Monday released three Republican primary election endorsements ahead of Tuesday’s contests in Florida and Arizona, and praised his favored candidates’ track records on policies that match his own priorities.
Trump hailed Florida Gov. Rick Scott, a Trump ally, for his performance in Florida, and encouraged Republicans to support Scott in his race for the Senate against Republican businessman Rocky De La Fuente. Both are looking to run against Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., in the fall.
“Rick Scott of Florida is doing a fantastic job as Governor,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Jobs are pouring into the State and its economic health is better than ever before. He is strong on Crime, Borders, and loves our Military and Vets. Vote for Rick on Tuesday!”

The president signaled his support for Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., as Scott’s replacement in the governor’s mansion. DeSantis faces a more competitive race against state agriculture commissioner and former federal lawmaker Adam Putnam on Tuesday.

Casting his eye west, Trump promoted Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey’s platform ahead of his primary against former state secretary of state Ken Bennett. Ducey is running for his second term as governor.
“Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona is doing a great job. It would be really nice to show your support tomorrow by voting for him in Tuesdays Primary,” Trump tweeted.

Ducey has stepped into the national spotlight since the death on Saturday of Sen. John McCain., R-Ariz., as he will appoint the longtime senator’s successor, who will be in office until 2020. Ducey’s advisers told the Arizona Republic on Sunday Ducey will not name a person until after McCain is laid to rest Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
