A former D.C. corrections officer pleaded guilty Monday to charges of accepting bribes in exchange for smuggling contraband into the jail for inmates.

Ryan Motley, 23, faces up to 12 years in prison. Prosecutors said he admitted to bringing in at least 10 cell phones and marijuana into the jail to deliver to the inmates. In exchange, he received about $1,800.

Prosecutors said a fellow correctional officer at the staff entrance stopped Motley in November after discovering two cell phones and two cell phone chargers in his protective vest.
