Lansing musical landmark featured on public TV

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Public TV station WKAR is presenting a documentary about a long-standing Lansing musical business that has fans and customers around the world.

The East Lansing station is showing “Elderly Instruments: All Things Strings” at 8 p.m. Friday, with a rebroadcast Sunday at 8 p.m.

The documentary is a production of Media Sandbox in the Michiagn State University College of Communication Arts & Sciences. The creators are Bob Albers and a team of 15 students.

Elderly Instruments sells used and new musical instruments and is marking its 40th anniversary.

“All Things Strings” features musical supplies for a spectrum of genres that includes folk, rock, bluegrass and country.
