Criticism of President-elect Trump for speaking with controversial world leaders is overblown, according to senior adviser Kellyanne Conway.
Trump raised eyebrows when he took a call from Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen on Friday, possibly the first time a president-elect (or president) in 40 years spoke with Taiwan’s leader. He also took a call with controversial Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte last week, reportedly inviting him to the White House.
Conway dismissed on “Fox News Sunday” that Trump isn’t aware of world affairs, saying that “people just have their hair on fire.”
“Let’s give this man time to form his Cabinet,” she said.
