A man was killed when he was apparently struck by a car on the Capital Beltway.

Virginia State Police said a trooper found the man in the roadway when he responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on I-495 near Telegraph Road in Fairfax County at about 2:50 a.m Wednesday.

Investigators believe the man, who was driving a 2011 Nissan Frontier truck, was involved in a minor accident and apparently got out of the truck and was then hit by a car, police said.

The truck had some minor rear-end damage.

A passenger in the vehicle was unconscious but unharmed. Police said the passenger, 42-year-old Je Ki Ma, of Philadelphia, was charged with public intoxication.

Police did not identify the man who was killed.

Authorities ask that anyone who was in that area at the time of the crashes and witnessed something call police at (703) 803-0027.
