Jamestown police exchange gunfire with suspect

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Police in the western New York city of Jamestown say they have two men in custody and are looking for three others following a home invasion during which a police officer was shot at.

Police say the encounter happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday inside a Jamestown home.

The two men arrested at the scene are charged with burglary. The three others fled, including one man who police say exchanged gunfire with an officer before jumping out a window.

Police say the suspect may have been injured by return fire.

None of the officers was hurt.

Police haven’t released the names of the men in custody.
