Man charged with stealing truck and holding passenger and goat hostage across three states

An Oklahoma man was arrested after police say he stole a truck outside of an adult video store that contained a sleeping man and a goat and went on a 130-mile trip through three states.

Brandon Kirby, 40, was arrested Wednesday after the strange ordeal. According to authorities, two men parked the truck outside of an adult video store in Carthage, Missouri, early that morning. One of the men fell asleep in the passenger side while the other went inside the store.

When the second man awoke, he said that Kirby was driving the truck and had a gun pointed at his head. During the trip to Oklahoma through Kansas, Kirby allegedly used methamphetamine, threatened his unwilling passenger, and pistol-whipped him.

The journey ended in Creek County, Oklahoma, after the man and his goat were released and called 911 to report the carjacking.

Kirby was charged with kidnapping, pointing a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is wanted in a different Oklahoma county for burglary and has multiple prior felony convictions including assault, burglary, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
