An FBI agent has been indicted in a February crash that killed an 18-year-old in Brandywine.
A Prince George’s County grand jury indicted 37-year-old Adrian Johnson on charges of motor vehicle manslaughter, homicide by motor vehicle, driving under the influence and reckless driving, according to the county State’s Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors allege that Johnson was drunk and speeding when he collided with 18-year-old Lawrence Garner Jr.’s Hyundai Sonata on the 10600 block of North Keys Road on Feb. 7. Johnson was off-duty at the time.
Garner was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 19-year-old passenger was seriously injured in the crash.
Johnson was suspended after the accident. An FBI spokeswoman said at the time that he had been with the agency for six years and had recently been transferred from the Newark, N.J., field office to the District to provide protection for the FBI director or the U.S. attorney general.
FBI spokesman Paul Bresson said in an email that Johnson was dismissed shortly after the incident.
