Prince George’s County police arrested a 49-year-old Oxon Hill man and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting death of an Alexandria activist.

Linwood Johnson is charged in the killing of Lenwood “Lenny” Harris, who went missing from Alexandria last fall and whose body was found in a well last weekend. Police say the motive for the killing was robbery and that they have obtained a full confession from Johnson. Police have recovered the murder weapon.

Assistant Police Chief Kevin Davis said the two men were acquaintances but would not elaborate. He said other arrests are imminent.

Police would not say whether Johnson was the same man seen in a photograph of someone using the bank card of 53-year-old Harris.
