BALTIMORE (AP) — President Barack Obama was greeted by hundreds of supporters at a Baltimore fundraiser during one of the visits he’s expected to make to heavily Democratic Maryland during his reelection campaign.
Obama lunched with about 100 supporters at an Owings Mills developer’s home Tuesday afternoon. Tickets for the event started at $10,000.
The campaign says about 500 supporters paid $250 or more to attend a reception at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Inner Harbor. Before the reception, about 15 people paid $40,000 each to attend a campaign roundtable with the president.
Sen. Barbara Mikulski says the events raised money but also energized people whose hard work is needed for the campaign’s ground game.
Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann, is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser in Linthicum later Tuesday.
