PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — DTE Energy Co. says it’s working to restore power to about 15,000 customers out of the 223,000 homes and businesses that lost service when severe thunderstorms hit Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

The Detroit-based utility says that 171,000 of its 186,000 affected customers were back online at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Jackson-based CMS Energy Corp. says it’s restored power to the 37,000 of its customers blacked out by Sunday’s storms.
