LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The Michigan House has overwhelmingly passed legislation to allow industrial hemp research.
Two bills passed Thursday would allow the state agriculture department, a college or a university to grow industrial hemp for agricultural or academic research. Hemp being grown for research purposes would be excluded from marijuana laws in the Public Health Code.
