Kanye West’s Yeezy brand is taking a hit after the rapper terminated the brand’s contract with retailer Gap.
JPMorgan Chase will reportedly be closing its financial relationship with the brand, according to conservative commentator Candace Owens, who allegedly obtained a letter from the bank announcing the change following a “recent discussion” with West, who now goes by “Ye.”
“Earlier today I learned that [West] was officially kicked out of JP Morgan Chase bank,” Owens captioned the photo. “I was told there was no official reason given, but they sent this letter as well to confirm that he has until late November to find another place for the Yeezy empire to bank.”

The bank is giving West until Nov. 21 to switch institutions, per the letter. JPMorgan Chase did not provide a comment to the Washington Examiner as to why the relationship was terminated. The Washington Examiner was able to confirm the authenticity of the letter and its date, which was Sept. 20, long before West’s recent controversies.
“After that date, the Bank will close any open accounts, and after deduction of any permissible service charges and pending transactions, remit all remaining funds in the form of a check delivered to the Company at the address of record,” the letter reads.
Owens became an unlikely ally to the rapper when she joined him during Paris Fashion Week to wear matching “White Lives Matter” shirts. Following the stunt, West embarked on a press tour to explain it in depth, beginning with Fox News. A subsequent interview on The Shop, a YouTube show produced by LeBron James, was never aired per a decision by its producer Maverick Carter.
