A zoo guest saved a trainer being attacked by an alligator Saturday, wrestling with the animal until the trainer was safe.
It happened at a reptile petting zoo in West Valley City, Utah, when an alligator bit trainer Lindsay Bull’s arm and pulled her into the water.
Zoo guest and reptile enthusiast Donnie Wiseman jumped into the exhibit to save her as young children at the zoo watched on.

“All of a sudden, Donnie was up there on the platform, yelling, ‘What do you want me to do? What do you want me to do?’” Bull said.
Wiseman’s wife, Theresa, captured a video of the ordeal.
“In the video, you can see I get in, and I’m kind of like, thinking in my head, ‘All right, here we are,’” Wiseman said. “I said something like, ‘What do I need to know?’ and she said, ‘Talk to me.’”
A guest at a reptile centre jumped into the enclosure to rescue a handler pulled in by an alligator.
The staff member was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, according to local media reports.

After about a minute, the alligator let go of Bull’s arm, but Wiseman was still in the exhibit straddling the gator.
“I thought to myself, you know, once I get her free, I’ve got him by the neck. He shouldn’t be able to get me, right?” Wiseman said.
“Honestly, the most terrifying thing for me was once she was out, suddenly I realized, ‘Oh my goodness, he’s in there alone,’” Wiseman’s wife said.

Wiseman eventually decided to jump off the gator and swiftly exit the exhibit. He praised Bull for her “bravery” and “professionalism” in the situation.
“Thanks to her, her bravery, her resourcefulness, her knowledge, her professionalism — she got herself out of the tank and myself without any more harm being done,” Wiseman said.
Bull can’t wait to get back to work after her recovery, she said.
