Donald Trump attacked the mental state of George Conway on Thursday, reviving a war of words in which Kellyanne Conway‘s husband claimed the former president had more than a couple of screws loose.
A short message was sent out by Trump’s Save America PAC with the image of a tweet featuring a screenshot of a tired-looking George Conway during an interview this week on CNN, which was focused on the Capitol riot, and a caption reading, “Is George Conway ok … ?”
“No, he’s mentally ill, a very sick man. I don’t know what Kellyanne did to him, but it must have been really bad. She has totally destroyed this guy — his mind is completely shot!” Trump said.
George Conway, a conservative lawyer, ensnared headlines during the Trump administration when he repeatedly questioned Trump’s mental health. In 2019, he suggested Trump has narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder by tweeting out their respective pages from the American Psychiatric Association’s diagnostic manual. “Anything involving the use of brain cells is not his strong suit,” George Conway said in one of his several tweets on the matter.
He responded to Trump’s broadside by referencing E. Jean Carroll, a writer and columnist who accused Trump of raping her in a New York City department store more than two decades ago. Trump, who denies the claim, lost a bid in March to countersue Carroll after she sued him for defamation.
“Hey, when’s your guy gonna produce his DNA in Jean Carroll’s lawsuit?” George Conway said in a tweet.

‘SPITE IS NO WAY TO RUN A COUNTRY’: KELLYANNE CONWAY SLAMS BIDEN POLICY REVERSALS
Kellyanne Conway served as Trump’s final campaign manager in 2016 and then as Trump’s senior counselor until the end of August 2020, when she left citing the need to focus on family, while George Conway stepped away from the Lincoln Project and took a short-lived hiatus from Twitter.
“We disagree about plenty,” Kellyanne Conway said of her relationship with her husband, “but we are united on what matters most: the kids.” They have four children together.
Kellyanne Conway defended her boss in 2019.
“He left it alone for months out of respect for me,” she told Politico. “But you think he shouldn’t respond when somebody, a nonmedical professional, accuses him of having a mental disorder? You think he should just take that sitting down?”

“Don’t play psychiatrist any more than George should be,” she added. “You’re not a psychiatrist and he’s not, respectfully.”
Adding to the awkward nature of the revived clashes between her husband and former boss, Kellyanne Conway is set to speak at a rally in Nebraska featuring Trump on Friday.
