Wisconsin police have opened a homicide investigation into the deaths of six people after their bodies were found inside a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, home.
Police found five dead people in the home upon conducting a welfare check, the Milwaukee Police Department said in a Sunday night press briefing. The medical examiner revealed early Monday morning there was a sixth victim. Authorities have not yet revealed the victims’ identities, only saying there were five males and one female, according to Fox6.
MPD Assistant Chief Paul Formolo said the investigation into the suspected homicides is still underway, and the department does not yet have information regarding suspects or a possible motive.
“There is no information to suggest there is a threat to the community,” Formolo said.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said in a statement Sunday he spent a part of his youth growing up near the area where the suspected homicide occurred and “saw some of the worst violence that a child should never see.”
“We remain steadfast in our efforts to reduce violence,” Johnson’s statement read. “We will achieve that through strengthened and improved law enforcement, through community intervention, and through a renewed commitment to prevention. Again, we can never accept murderous violence as routine, and we must together recommit ourselves to our shared responsibility to find solutions and make our city safer.”

If Milwaukee is ever going to live up to its potential then we must work to make sure that these neighborhoods and the people in them, are safe, healthy, and prosperous. pic.twitter.com/t5CfsI3Yen
