Trump: The press will ‘all go BUST’ once he leaves office

President Trump predicted that many in the media will “go bust” once he’s out of office, and said his presidency is keeping many media outlets in business.

“The Press has never been more dishonest than it is today. Stories are written that have absolutely no basis in fact. The writers don’t even call asking for verification. They are totally out of control,” Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday morning. “Sadly, I kept many of them in business. In six years, they all go BUST!”

Media companies, especially those whose content is solely digital, have been facing financial difficulties and many have faced restructuring and mass layoffs recently, including BuzzFeed, Huffington Post, Vice, and USA Today.

Following these layoffs, Trump predicted that there “sadly” would be more cutbacks because people want the truth, and he says they aren’t getting it from some of these outlets.

Trump constantly berates the media for being “fake news,” and has called media the “enemy of the people.”
