Melania Trump to visit more immigration facilities

First lady Melania Trump will make a second trip to visit more immigration centers after she traveled to Texas last week in the wake of the controversy surrounding President Trump’s zero tolerance toward illegal border crossings, according to her office.

“Mrs. Trump plans to visit additional facilities sometime this week,” Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s communications director, told the Washington Examiner.

While details are scant, CNN reported Tuesday Trump will likely inspect a processing center, as flooding prevented her for dropping into one last Thursday when she was in McAllen, Texas.

During her Thursday visit, the first lady sat down with officials at a holding facility before taking a tour and meeting some of the detained children.

But her efforts to demonstrate the compassionate side of the Trump administration were overshadowed when she boarded her plane to the U.S.-Mexico border sporting a jacket with the message, “I really don’t care, do u?” emblazoned on the back.

Trump signed an executive order last Wednesday that ended the practice of taking children away from parents or guardians accused of entering the U.S. illegally following widespread condemnation.
