Alliant Techsystems announced Tuesday that it will acquire Beltsville-based Swales Aerospace, a premier provider of satellite components and subsystems, small spacecraft and engineering services for NASA, the Department of Defense and commercial satellite customers. The transaction is subject to industry review and shareholder approval.
The acquisition will enhance ATK?s systems engineering. Swales Beltsville headquarters will become the new ATK Space Division headquarters within the Mission Systems Group.
With the addition of Swales, ATK expects to realize more than $100 million in additional fiscal 2008 revenue. ATK is a $3.5 billion advanced weapon and space systems company employing 15,500 people in 21 states
